It’s a good idea to check your trailer for maintenance needs on a regular basis! The safety and comfort of your horse depends on it!

Here is a quick list of things you should be checking for:

- Check the tires to make sure they have appropriate tread and inflation, including your spare

- Make sure your jack and safety triangle are in good working order

- Examine your floorboards for rotting or weak spots

- Check all screw, nails and bolts

- Very that all of the trailer lights are working, interior and exterior

- Check hitch welds, safety chain welds, and snaps

- Check and grease the hitch ball if it needs it
