Remember

Sometimes we get so caught up in riding lessons and practices, vet visits, shows and frustrations and we forget why we’re doing it in the first place. This week, take a moment to stop and remember that first moment of joy you felt when you saw a horse for the first time or rode for the first time.
Remember your first riding lesson and how excited you were.
Remember your first show, the nerves and the thrill.
Remember your first horse and all the life lessons he/she taught you.
Remember all the hard work, the joy the pain, and even the dull moments.
Remember the rough times that taught you about being brave and standing up.
Remember how hard it was sometimes to keep on going, when you felt like giving up.
Remember the feeling of victory when you didn’t give up and reached the other side.
Remember all the horses who have taught you, lived life with you, and loved you.
Remember the horses who never gave up on you.
Remember how far you’ve come from where you’ve started.
And remember, what made you start the journey in the first place.
