Basic Horse Anatomy
Posted by Saddle Up on Sep 28th 2016
A basic knowledge of horse anatomy is a must for anyone who works with horses on a more serious level.
Say a horse gets injured and you need to tell the vet on the phone where the injury is located. Having the right terms will help you communicate clearly with your vet and give your vet a better idea of how to help your horse.
It will also help you during riding instruction, lectures/talks on horse health and maintenance, and in your overall understanding of the horse's physical body.
If you're an instructor, be sure to education your students on the anatomy of the horse!
Below is a detailed
picture of the different parts of the horse to help you get started learning
the names!
