2022 Top 10 Best Selling Saddles

Posted by Lynnsy Diekman - Saddle Up on Feb 1st 2023

Wow! What a year 2022 was. Our business had huge success and we started with so many new adventures! We are striving each day to accomplish our goals and we are making a lot of head way. We always find the end of year data interesting to see what our customers loved most. I thought for this blog it would be fun to take a look at our top 10 best selling saddles in 2022. This is solely based on sales reports for the whole year and comparing all of the new saddle brands we carry. Which is your fan favorite?

1. Circle Y

Circle Y is one of our top saddle and tack brands that we have here at the shop. They are based out of Yoakum, Texas and have been in the game since 1960. They are America's leading saddle brand and truly produce incredible products. They offer a variety of styles, disciplines, and tree styles to help fit more horses. Our most popular Circle Y saddles are most likely their trail or barrel saddles.

2. McCall Saddlery

McCall is an amazing company that still produces all hand made products. They are a one shop operation located in Utah. McCall Saddlery has built a name for themselves as being one of the greats. They build quality items with a classic twist. One of our most popular saddles is their McCall Mclite, which is an all leather saddle that weighs 23-25 lbs. They really know how to build a saddle!

3. HR Saddlery

HR Saddlery is a custom maker out of Frisco, Texas. Hudd Roberts, the owner, has really made an impression within the industry. He builds beautiful saddles and has a real eye for ranch style saddles. We have carried his saddles for many years and we are so stoked to see his company growing. He offers many styles and trees to try and fit a variety of horses. All of his saddles and tack are hand made and hand tooled as well.

4. Billy Cook

Billy Cook has been around for many years. While they have had some business changes, we are very impressed with the saddles they are producing currently. They really know how to put their mark on the saddles and we enjoy seeing their new designs. We carry a variety of disciplines, but our favorite is their Ultra Light Wades. Their tooling is incredible also!

5. Cashel Company

Cashel Company is a sister company to Martin Saddlery. Cashel builds all the trail line, including trail saddles. They produce Martin quality products and their trail saddles have been in our store for years. They are not only eye catching, but feature a comfortable seat and short skirt for short backed horses. There are a great option to have when we come across an hour glass shaped back and they strive for quality.

6. Martin Saddlery

Even though we are a fresh dealer, Martin Saddlery still came in at #6 for 2022. We didn't get in as many as we would of wanted for the year, but the ones we did get in moved really quickly. Martin is known for their tremendous quality and beautiful saddle designs. We have loved designing them and seeing all they can offer. You can choose from many different models and disciplines, as well as tree styles. They have always been a fan favorite and we hope to get more in for 2023.

7. Fabtron

Fabtron provides us with great half leather, half synthetic saddle options. They are great trail saddles, being that they are so lightweight. They do offer many different tree styles and a supreme version if you want it to be a bit fancier. We have had many trail riders choose these saddles, including forest rangers!

8. Scott Thomas

Scott Thomas has really made am impression here at our shop. Not only do they build gorgeous saddles, but we are really liking the trees they build on. They fit a great variety of horses and can do all kinds of custom designs. We have mainly focused on their barrels and ranchers, but we are excited to expand on their disciplines!

9. Loredo

Loredo is a saddle company out of Greenville, Texas. They offer all things custom and they can do just about anything you show them. We have seen so many pretty and unique saddles from Loredo. While they can take a little bit to get to us, we do really like having them as options. They do a great job on their barrel saddles and ranch cutters!

10. Dakota

Dakota Saddlery is a more production made saddle, but they have a great purpose here at our shop. They are a more economical option, but make great options for many different riders. We really enjoy their reining saddles, so much so that we specially designed one with a round skirt! This way, we can offer them as trails as well. The trees do fit horses very nicely and they are a great company to work with. Their reining saddles are also very lightweight and at a great price!
